Varadero

Varadero is the most famous city-resort in Cuba. Its open landscape, its peculiar vegetation,the warm climate, the crystal clear sea waters and the fine white sand turn it into an unforgettable destination.

Located at 140 km to the east from Havana and 30 km from the city of Matanzas, it is accessible by land from Havana . Matanzas City, very near this resort, is considered La Atenas de Cuba for its important cultural values and its inhabitants´concern to preserve their cultural life. Its stages welcomed important art stars like Fanny Elssler , Ana Pávlova, Sara Bernhardt and Adelina Patti , considered the best soprano in history . Among its guests, on the other hand, it counted Louis Philipe d’Orléans , who eventually became King of France.
